Discover Lake Garda and Bardolino: things to do, to see and to eat

Bardolino is on the eastern shore of Lake Garda in the middle of the Riviera degli Olivi, and it is an oasis of leisure due to the splendor of the scenery and its climate, an enchanting place to spend your holiday in a natural environment full of fascination, history and tradition. Its characteristic products are oil and especially wine, known throughout the world for its excellence and produced in local vineyards.

The calendar of events that take place in Bardolino during the spring and summer seasons is extremely rich: outdoor classic music or jazz concerts, art exhibitions, sport manifestations, theatrical performance, conventions and traditional festivals, like the "Wine and Grape Festival".

Bardolino: the things to do and to see are many! Some of the main areas easily reached from our hotel are: Garda, Lazise, Verona, Venice, Vicenza, Mantua, Valeggio sul Mincio, Custoza, Sirmione, Soave, Bolca, Monte Baldo, the Lessini Mountains and the sanctuary of the Madonna della Corona.

In short, if you are wondering what to see in and around Bardolino...you have an abundance of choices!

“Spring”: Sports

The Lake Garda area is one big gymnasium for those who love an active holiday and playing sports. It is one of the European capitals for sailing sports like sail boating, kite surfing and wind surfing, but it is also a destination for cycling enthusiasts due to its many exciting itineraries, whether for road bikes or mountain bikes, both of which can be rented at our hotel.

Lake Garda’s temperate climate allows for many other sports as well: golf, climbing, canyoning, paragliding and hang-gliding, diving, Nordic walking, wakeboarding, kayaking and lots more.

“Summer”: Leisure time

Bardolino is in a strategic position for you to visit aquatic and amusement parks like Caneva World and the very famous Gardaland. There are also numerous parks, gardens, botanical gardens, wildlife parks and thermal parks that you can get to easily from our hotel, like the Sigurtà Garden Park, now considered one of the five most extraordinary parks in the world.

Outings and excursions abound at Lake Garda: there are walks along the lake, hikes on Monte Baldo, and boat or hydrofoil rides that let you cruise the lake and land on the wonderful Isola del Garda.

“Autumn”: Food and wine

As you explore the itineraries in the hilly inland of Bardolino, perhaps on a bicycle, you may stop at small, welcoming country inns and agritourism businesses to sample products in the Garda tradition.

The area where the very famous Bardolino Classico DOC red wine is produced, is a hilly countryside that faces Lake Garda, covered in vineyards and olive groves. This land enjoys an especially mild climate that allows the vineyards to yield such excellent grapes. The typical Bardolino wine is a red table wine that is paired with the typical dishes of the local cuisine like ‘risotto with tench’, ‘bigoli pasta with fish sauce’ and ‘polenta e osei’.

“Winter”: Culture, territory and relax

There are plenty of museums and monuments in the Lake Garda area and nearby areas (Monte Baldo, Valpolicella, Veronese) to satisfy your interests in history, culture and art and more besides. The Arena di Verona is one of the most famous, and with its wide program of lyric opera it attracts attendees every year from around the world. The Vittoriale degli Italiani in Gardone, the Catullus Caves and the Archaeological Museum of Sirmione are also of great historical and archaeological interest.

The region also boasts the presence of many religious buildings like parish churches, churches and hermitages, rich in frescoes of incomparable artistic value.
